After church this morning we went to IHOP Express for lunch. We each had the country omelet with pancakes and coffee.

I took the pickup to Firestone this morning and got the safety inspection.
Later Sis and I went to deliver some chemo caps she had made. Then we stopped at Jim's Restaurant and had a late breakfast. We each had Eggs Benedict with hashbrowns, mixed fresh fruit, and coffee. We brought back to bowls of Wisconsin cheese soup to have for supper.
I made a loaf of cranberry yeast bread in the bread machine this afternoon and we had some of it for supper with the cheese soup.
We got the car and pickup washed today.

Today would have been my 24th wedding anniversary. I worked until noon today.Then I went to my usual Friday afternoon beauty shop appointment. On the way home from that I went to the grocery store and spent $54 on groceries. I went on to the church and dropped off a couple of items I bought for the custodial supplies.
For supper we had Marie Callendar chicken pot pies.

I got up at 4 a.m. It is cold again this morning.
The monitor to the security camera on my desk went out this morning. I called the alarm company. They sent a man out to check it. He said that it is old and not able to be repaired. He will send out a sales rep. to give us a quote on a new system.
I filled out the W-3 and sent it with the W-2's to Social Security today. I took it to the post offfice on my way home from work.
We had tuna subs for lunch and homemade vegetable soup for supper.
Today is Jim's birthday. I called him this evening. He had been laid off from work but got called back the other day.

It was busy at work. People were working downstairs in the rummage area;a group of ladies had their monthly bunco games in the parlor in the afternoon;the phone repairman came and replaced old wiring on the outside of the building and got our new phones working correctly; a lady came with information about needing census-takers;and I was trying to get the W-3 ready to send in to Social Security with the W-2 forms. I called the IRS forms office and ordered to more 941X forms to amend some of the ones turned in last year.
When I got home from work, I slept in the recliner until 6 p.m. and woke up feeling rather dazed after dreaming weird dreams.

Adtel installed a refurbished phone system at the office today. The technician got there about 10 a.m. and was still there when I left to come home. He is to come back today to finish up.
It was cold and wet all day. After I got home I went to Little Caesar's and picked up one of the Tuesday special pizszas for our supper ($4.31 with tax). When I drove over to get it, it had gotten so much colder that I was shocked.

I sure didn't sleep good last night. I woke up about every hour with the inside of my mouth as dry as paper. I had to keep getting a drink of water. I think I must sleep with my mouth open and it dries out. I finally got up at 3:30 a.m.
Sis brought a noodle casserole to church for our lunch. Then for supper we had hot dogs, corn, and cole slaw.
Fred sent an invitation to download LogitechVid to my computer. I did - to my laptop - and then I was able to talk to him and see him at the same time. The audio connection wasn't too good, but he thinks it will be better the next time. He said it is better than that when he talks to his daughter and her ex-husband.

I woke up at 1:00 a.m. and couldn't sleep so I got up for a couple of hours. Then I went back to bed and slept until the radio alarm went on in Sis's room at 6:00 a.m.
There was an administrative board meeting after church but I didn't have to attend it. It was just for the board members to vote to formally approve the 2010 budget.
After church I came home and heated up a can of spaghetti-o's for my lunch.
For supper I fixed turkey meat loaf, corn, and beans, and made a loaf of bread in the bread machine. Sis got home from her mission trip around 6:30 p.m. and I had supper ready for her.

I fed the pastor's dog and cats this morning. Then I took Digger to the vet and left her there.
I went on to the credit union and made a deposit, then came back to the vet and picked up the box with Digger's remains. I brought it home and buried it behind the storage building in the back yard. Sis had dug the hole yesterday before she left.
I did laundry.
Later I went to the library and got a new library card. I checked out the book, The Cat Who Tailed a Thief. Then I went to Snoga's and picked up a brisket poorboy sandwich for lunch. I went to Good Will and bought two purses for $3.99 each.
Later this afternoon I went to the church and picked up the mail, then went to the grocery store and picked up a few things I didn't get yesterday.
I finished the laundry and mopped the bedroom that Digger had slept in. I took all her things out to the garage. (litter box, cage, etc.)
For supper I heated up a can of Progresso Pot Roast with Vegetables soup.
Later tonight I made a turkey meat loaf and baked it in 3 mini loaf pans.
I called Edna and talked to her for nearly an hour while the meat loaves were baking.

I got up a little before 4 this morning. I changed the cats' litterboxes and emptied the trash cans in the bathroom and kitchen, made coffee, fed the cats, let the dog out and back in, and made coffee before sitting down to check my email. It is just after 5 a.m. now.
I got my hair done after I got off work today.
Sis left on her mission trip to Piedras Negras this afternoon.
She made an appointment with the vet for me to take Digger in tomorrow morning to be euthanized. Her health is so bad that the vet can do no more for her.
I fed the pastor's dog and cats this evening.
Then I went to the grocery store and got some groceries. I saved $15.85 with coupons and on-sale items.
Tonight I couldn't find Calvin. I had put him in my room earlier so he wouldn't harass Digger while she was out of her room. I kept looking for him for a long time and finally I found him in a drawer under the bed that I had opened earlier to get some things out. I hadn't seen him get in, and it is a small drawer that he could barely fit in, especially with the pillow cases that were already in the drawer. I can't figure out how he managed to be in there and me not see him when I closed the drawer. Anyway, I found him and he was okay.

I woke up around 2:30 a.m. and my legs ached so much I couldn't stay in bed. So I slept in the recliner in the living room until around 4 a.m. and then got up.
After work, I went to the grocery store and got 6 bottles of Clorox Cleaning with Bleach solution and took them back to the office for the mission team to use this weekend to clean the fellowship hall.
I went with Sis this evening to feed the cats and take care of the dog at the job she is doing for the weekend. I'll do it for her tomorrow evening and Saturday morning while she is out of town.
I updated the quickbooks on both the computer at the office and my laptop.
We had hamburgers for supper.

Today was the day for the food pantry. Not as many people came today.

The quick books 2010 software that I ordered through ebay came today. I installed it on my desktop computer at home.
We had leftover macaroni and cheese for supper. Later, after Sis got back from the evening service at her church, we had cake and ice cream for dessert.

It was 31 when I got up this morning, but expected to get down to 29 before daylight.
I took my Boniva this morning.
I baked whole wheat biscuits for breakfast.
I mailed the cable payment, the payment for this year's registration sticker for the car, and we mailed a get-well card to Aunt Charlotte.
There was lots to do at work. At noon Phoebe brought us a pizza from Little Caesar's and an orange for each of us.
After I got off work, I took my paycheck and the check from the locksmith to the bank.

I didn't have to work today because it is Presidents' Day.
Sis fixed cornmeal mush, fried apples, and scrambled eggs for breakfast and I also had a small glass of grapefruit juice and a cup of coffee. I didn't get up in time to take my Boniva an hour before breakfast, so I'll take it tomorrow instead.
We didn't go out of the house at all today. It was a good day to just relax.
Marcille called this evening. They have had a lot more snow than normal.

I got up at 4:30 and put a pan of lasagna in the oven to bake for today's potluck dinner. When it is finished, I will keep it hot on the warming tray until time to leave for church. Then I can put it on the warming tray at church to keep it hot until time to eat.
When I got to church, Nancy was already there so the alarm was off. I took the lasagna down to the kitchen and plugged in the warming tray. I helped set up and made the coffee.
We had a larger than usual number of people at church today and most of them stayed for the potluck afterward. I stayed and helped clean up after it was over. My lasagna was all eaten.
Sis's church had a potluck dinner today also. She got home shortly after I did.

It was below freezing when I went outside this morning and I had to scrape the windows. That is something I haven’t had to do since I moved here from Ohio in 1986. But it is expected to get up to 62 degrees today.
Life is never dull around here. This morning I took my little Geo Metro to Firestone to get the annual safety inspection.
I was sitting in the waiting room and after awhile the inspector came in and told me the inspection wasn’t due until August. I said I think it is due in February. I got it on Feb 11th last year. We went outside and couldn’t find the car. He had gotten the wrong car, a Chev. Prism. In the meantime we were looking all around the lot for my car . . . nowhere to be found. I couldn’t imagine anyone wanting to steal it as bad as it looks. Finally we found it inside the garage. They had gotten it mixed up with the Chev. Prism and were doing a tire rotation on it. They apologized and I ended up getting the tire rotation free. Then they did the inspection. It cost $14.50.

After I left there, I went to the lock shop and gave him the books I had done for him.

I had trouble sleeping and got up at 2:00 a.m. I stayed up until 4 a.m., then went back to bed for a couple more hours.
Phoebe brought Subway sandwiches for us to have for lunch. I also had some broccoli soup left in the refrigerator at work, so I finished that.
We had a finance committee meeting at 2 p.m. and then when I left work after that was over, I went to the bank to cash a couple of checks. Then I went to the grocery store and paid the water bill and got a few groceries. It was almost 4:30 p.m. by the time I got home.
I had got a bag of fully cooked hamburger patties with coupons for free buns and mayonnaise, so we each had a hamburger for supper.

The electrician and his helper came today and worked on the wiring. They grounded the wires from the stove and the outlet by the door to the garage.

I can hardly believe it. I am 70 years old today. That sounds so much older than I feel. I am thankful to God for all His blessings and for giving me good health and all I need.
After I got off work at noon, I went home and had lunch, then went to the beauty shop.
This evening we went to the Little Red Barn steak house and I had grilled chicken breast, salad, baked potato, roll, and coffee.
I have gotten lots of email birthday greetings, cards and phone calls today. Edna, Lorie, and J.D. all called.
An electrician came to check our wiring today and will come back tomorrow.

It didn't clear off today but was wet and dreary all day.
At lunchtime, Melanie, Phoebe, Nancy, Jim and I went to El Tipico restaurant for a birthday luncheon. I had the chopped sirloin steak, baked potato, salad, roll and coffee. It was delicious.
Phoebe had made a carrot cake for us to have for dessert after we got back to the office.
Melanie gave me a potted plant called Schlefflera (or dwarf umbrella plant). I looked it up on Wikapedia and found the following information about it. It showed pictures but they won't copy onto this blog.

It is an evergreen shrub growing to 3-4 m tall, with weak, often trailing stems scrambling over other vegetation. The leaves are palmately compound, with 7-9 leaflets, the leaflets 9-20 cm long and 4-10 cm broad (though often smaller in cultivation). The flowers are produced in a 20 cm panicle of small umbels, each umbel 7-10 mm diameter with 5-10 flowers.

It is commonly grown as a houseplant, popular for its tolerance of neglect and poor growing conditions. Numerous cultivars have been selected for variations in leaf colour and pattern, often variegated with creamy-white to yellow edges or centres, and dwarf forms.
The umbrella plant lends itself easily to the bonsai form and is popular as an indoor bonsai.

The plant prefers higher light if possible, but can adapt to a wide variety of light levels. As a tropical plant it likes moisture, but avoid letting the plant sit in water after you water it. It likes to be moist but not wet.

Under the right conditions, this plant will produce aerial roots that, when they reach the ground, will convert to fully functional roots. They give the plant an unusual and interesting appearance. Three conditions must be maintained for the plant to produce them: a high growth rate, insufficient trunk roots (the plant is root bound or these roots are pruned) and constant, very high humidity.
After we got home, Richard and Melverie came by and brought a white cake with chocolate icing that she had baked for my birthday. We had some with coffee while she was here.
I got some more birthday cards today.
It didn't clear off today but was wet and dreary all day.
At lunchtime, Melanie, Phoebe, Nancy, Jim and I went to El Tipico restaurant for a birthday luncheon. I had the chopped sirloin steak, baked potato, salad, roll and coffee. It was delicious.
Phoebe had made a carrot cake for us to have for dessert after we got back to the office.

It was raining steadily when I got up at 4:00 a.m. and is still raining an hour later.
I fed the cats and ran the dishwasher and made coffee. Precious wouldn't go out in the rain. I can't blame her.
It rained a lot today. We got around 2 inches.
The art group cancelled for today because of it, and choir practice was cancelled for tonight, but the women's group had a good meeting and a good number of people.
Phoebe went to the dentist this morning to get imprints taken for a new tooth on her partial plate to replace one that was pulled a few weeks ago.

It wasn't quite as cold when I got up at 4:00 this morning.
Phoebe went to work with me this morning and helped Barbara price items for the rummage sale. After a couple of hours though, her back seized up and she had to quit. At lunchtime she went to Little Caesar's and got us a pizza for lunch. Then I took her home and brought the car back.
The company repairman came back out to work on the stove this afternoon.
After work I went to the locksmith's and picked up his 2d half 2009 books to do for him.
Then I went to Wal-Mart and picked up my blood pressure prescription and did a little shopping.
For supper I just had a grapefruit.

I slept until the alarm went off this morning and dreamed lots of crazy dreams.
I called Wal-Mart Pharmacy and ordered a refill of my blood pressure prescription.
Then the locksmith that I do bookkeeping for called. He has more paperwork ready for me to do. So I told him I would pick it up tomorrow afternoon when I come to that side of town to pick up my prescription.
Sis brought subway tuna sandwiches to the office for us for lunch. For supper I had tomato soup and bread, butter and pear honey, and an apple. Sis fixed cream of mushroom soup for herself with bread and butter and pear honey.
I got two birthday cards today.
We watched Antiques Road Show.
