What a weird dream I just had! I dreamed that I was picked up by a tornado near Dayton, Ohio (somewhere near where I used to live years ago) and dropped into a field near Reno, Nevada (a place I’ve never been). The dream seemed to last quite awhile, during which time I was trying to find a way to contact my family in Ohio. I have read that dreams really last only a few seconds, but this seemed to last longer than that. It had to have all happened within the last hour though, because I was awake around 4 a.m. and went back to sleep and it is now just after 5 a.m.

The BBQ was great. The brisket was tender and flavorful; the potato salad and beans good. We didn't stay for all the games, etc. as we had to go do our weekly shopping, but it looked like it was already well attended, and that was right after they started serving.
It is a hot day and Wal-Mart with its crowds always tires me out, so I was glad to get home. We sat out on the back porch with coffee and watched the kittens play for a few minutes. Calvin went out too and checked them out. He isn't real sure about them yet, but he doesn't threaten them - although he did growl a bit when one of them came too close to him. We brought him inside when we came back in. The air conditioning feels good in here.
We have switched from canned cat food to dry kitten food for three of the kittens, but the fourth, a little black one, seems a little behind the others in progress and not as lively, so he is still on canned food and is put in the crate to eat it so the others won't horn in and take it away from him. The other three are very lively and run around and play actively with each other until tired; then they all lie down in a heap and nap for awhile. They are all using their litter boxes now - thank goodness for that! We are using clumping litter and the sifting liners in the boxes, to make it easier to change with that many using the boxes. Right now we put out two low cardboard boxes for them to use.

Come on out to Epworth United Methodist Church on Pecan Valley Drive, San Antonio, TX between 12 and 4 pm Saturday, 19 May 2012 to eat some great BBQ, listen to music, play games, have your face painted and fellowship with our Corredor church neighbors. Invite someone to come. The more the merrier.
They promise to have onions which are FULL OF FLAVOR...as you can see from the picture.

Last evening we went to a Spirit Sisters meeting at Highland Terrace United Methodist church. We are all making prayer shawls. I am knitting one. The others are crocheting theirs.
Later, Sis and I went grocery shopping and got some kitten food and litter. They are eating dry food now and as lively as can be. Calvin watches them through the window but doesn't growl at them like he did the first couple of days. I don't trust him yet to be out there on the back porch with them.

My new HMO doctor called this morning with results from my blood test last week. Other than my cholesterol being just a little bit high and being a little dehydrated, everything looks good. So he advised me to go easy on red meat, cheese and eggs, and drink plenty of water. Sounds like something I can handle.
