Friday evening Sis left for Florida to spend a week visiting friends she knew when she lived there for so many years. She rented a car (a black Kia) and drove. She has been calling along the route on her cell phone. She drove as far as Baytown, Texas last night. Then
Saturday morning she started out again and went through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and just a few minutes ago she called and said she had crossed into Florida. I don't think she will make it clear to Marco Island without stopping for the night. I'd rather see her stop another night along the way and not try to drive after dark.
After she left Friday evening, I went to Wal-Mart and picked up my prescription refills.
I started cleaning out the two closets in my room this weekend. This morning I took three bags of clothes and old computer equipment and other things to the Good Will donation station a couple of miles from here and dropped them off. I've still got plenty more to do.
I cleaned out the refrigerator Saturday morning. I hate that job. There's always something in the back somewhere that I look at and think, "What was that?" But it looked so much better after I got finished.
Then the custodian from work called and needed something notarized so I went over and did that. It only takes me three minutes to drive over there.
I went to the library and turned in a book while I was out and about. I should have stopped and got more canned cat food for Calvin.
I was getting tired after all that so I lay down and took a nap for about an hour and a half. That's when Sis called and said she had crossed into Florida. So then I got back up and unloaded the dishwasher and poured myself a cup of coffee. It's 20 till 4 right now and I don't think I'm going to do much else today. I may just open a can of ravioli for supper and have a little dish of ice cream for dessert.
Sis called just before 10 p.m. She had stopped for the night at a motel near Ocala, Florida. She said traffic was very heavy and it was getting hard to drive after dark.
I had just gone to bed, but I wasn’t sleepy yet so I got back up and watched the 10 p.m. news. and then went back to bed.

After church this morning I came home and heated up the rest of the ravioli from yesterday and had a salad with it.
Sis called. She got to Marco Island in time to attend services at the church she used to go to.

It was cloudy and drizzling rain off and on today. I went to the store after work and got some more cat food for Calvin and a frozen dinner for myself.

Don H. stopped by the church and picked up the IRS paperwork this morning and Sally W’s phone number so he can check with her about it. She is a CPA.
I went to Wendy’s after work and got a double stack cheeseburger and a small Frosty for supper.
It was cloudy all day with occasional drizzle.
It is definitely boring here without Sis. She called tonight.
Wednesday, Apr 14, 2010I slept until the alarm went off at 4:30 this morning. I had a fried egg sandwich for breakfast.
Thursday, April 15, 2010Some people think their dogs understand every word they say and some don’t. I’ve never thought they understood more than basic commands and things like “Do you want to go outside?”, but a funny thing happened yesterday.
When I emptied a small can of cat food into Calvin’s dish, I set the can on the floor for Precious to clean out. She picked it up and started into the other room with it. I said, “Bring it back when you are done.” A few minutes later I was sitting at my computer and she brought it back and dropped it on the floor in front of me – licked clean. Naturally I told her what a good dog she was, but it startled me. I had figured I’d have to go look for the can and see where she left it.

It rained almost all day and was so dark this morning that the street and yard lights didn't go off until almost 8:30 a.m. I had planned to run some errands, but the weather was so bad that I just stayed home.

Sis got home this evening. Coming through Houston was a nightmare as it was raining so hard that she couldn't see the exits or anything. But after she got through Katy, there was no more rain. I helped her unload the car and she cleaned it out so that she can turn it back in to the car rental agency tomorrow morning.
I had fixed dried lima beans with ham for supper and for dessert we each had a piece of the pineapple cake that I had made for her birthday.

This morning Sis took the rental car back. I met her there and brought her home. Then I went on to work.
This evening we had hot dogs, corn, sliced tomatoes, and strawberries for supper.
