Time for a little catching-up.

Sis took the kittens in for their final shots Monday. They each weigh between 3 and 5 pounds now. In October we can have them spayed or neutered.

Tuesday – I went to the doctor this morning, as I am still in constant pain and having difficulty walking. He wants me to go have x-rays in the next couple of days on the lumbar region. In the meantime he prescribed a muscle relaxant pill to take at bedtime and gave me some samples of Celebrex to take once a day for a couple of days. I’ve heard so many warnings on the Celebrex ads that I am afraid to take them. The muscle relaxant did help last night. I slept pretty good for 5 or 6 hours.

SundayWe didn't eat out today. Sis fixed homemade chicken and noodles. Yummy!

SaturdayWe ate breakfast at Cracker Barrel, then stopped for a few items on the way home. I stayed in the car and let Sis do the shopping - too hard for me to walk that far.

I'm still hobbling around with the sciatica and haven't been online to post much. Yesterday afternoon wasn't as bad, but today have a lot of aches and pains again. Getting old sure isn't for wimps. The golden years are more like the rusty years. lol

We are getting some very much needed rain. It is 8:45 a.m., but so dark outside my office window that it looks like late evening. It started raining shortly after I got here this morning and has been raining heavily most of the time since then. Lots of rumbling with all the thunder, but I haven't seen any lightning.

A storm bearing lightning and heavy rain lumbered its way across San Antonio this morning, just in time to create rush-hour headaches.

Streets quickly filled with water, and traffic was brought to a near-standstill in some places. One motorist crawling south on U.S. 281 said by cellphone that the rainfall was “like a hurricane.”

A high-water rescue call on O’Connor Road was called off after the motorist reportedly pushed his car out of the water.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Bexar County until 11 a.m. The weather service said it expected the storm to produce 3 to 4 inches of rain across the San Antonio area.

The storm moved across the city from the north."

Today is quiet. We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, then came home and I did my laundry. I am in as much pain as I was last week so I rest for 10 minutes about every hour and I am using a cane and taking pain pills every six hours. I sure hope this gets better soon.

I finally have the pictures of my car now that it has been repainted. I've posted some of the before and after pictures.

AFTER PAINTING:

BEFORE PAINTING: Lots of peeled off paint and some surface rust. The rust was mostly on the roof. There was also a dent on driver's side and some scratches on the passenger side that don't show too much in the before pictures, but they were quite noticeable. The man who painted the car did a really good job.

I am still suffering with pains that I now think may be sciatica. It has slowed down my normal activities considerably. I don't often take pain pills, but about 2 this morning I finally got up and took a couple acetaminophen pills. It took about an hour to take effect, but I finally was able to get some sleep and walk more or less normally when I got up about 7 a.m.

The office is closed today for the Fourth of July. We went to Wendy's for breakfast and I sat out in the yard and pruned a couple bushes after we got home. Not fun, having to sit to do things that I am used to doing while standing, but hopefully this won't last.

If Sis will take a picture of my car after while, I'll post it and show how nice it looks with its new paint job.

Saturday was a long hard day. I've been having trouble with my back and hips for a couple of days. Walking is quite difficult. I hope this is a temporary thing, not something caused by the osteoporosis.

We did go out for breakfast yesterday morning, but I stayed home the rest of the day, alternately working on my ancestry.com pages, resting, playing with the kittens on the back porch and scooping their litter boxes, resting, you get the idea - resting in between a lot of things.

I washed my hair and went to bed early, but now it is 3:00 and I can't sleep, so here I am.

I always pick up a lady on my way to church and today is my day to be the greeter at church.
