Sis went to Piedras Negras, Mexico for the day with the mission group. They took supplies to the orphanages and were to take the children to a water park and cook hot dogs and hamburgers for them. She baked cookies to take along for them too. I think they were expecting to take about 40 children on the outing. She left here about 6:30 a.m. to go meet the rest of the group.
After she left, I did two loads of laundry and got it folded and put away. Then I started feeling really down and dragging, so I went back to bed for an hour or so. I got up later and still felt like I was in a fog, so I went back to bed and slept until almost noon. That time when I got up I felt much better, so I went shopping and bought some new shoes and stopped at Wendy’s and got myself a hamburger and frosty milk shake for lunch. I’ve felt okay since then, but it is so hot outside I sure wouldn’t want to be doing anything outdoors. It is around 100 and the heat index is even higher.
I was working on the computer a little while ago when I heard a scratching around the window behind me. I thought it was the cat, but when I looked around, there was a little squirrel on the outside of the window, scratching like he thought he was going to come in. It was so cute. I tapped on the window and he left in a hurry.
We’ve been fighting wasps on the patio all week. They built nests all around under the roof and were swarming around so we couldn’t use the hot tub. I bought a bunch of cans of hornet & wasp spray and Sis sprayed them several times and finally got the nests knocked down and out of there. But they keep coming back and trying to build more nests. I don’t know what they like so much about that area. The hot tub is kept covered when it isn’t in use.
